Alessandro Vecchi is a photographer deeply interested in climate change and well aware of its connections with economic policies, more specifically energy policies, and with social dynamics like migrations.
With a preparation ranging from architecture studies – universities in Florence, Italy and Paris, France – to photojournalism and documentary photography – International Center of Photography in New York City, his multilingual skills and his longtime wide interest on international politics, he has been working for years throughout several countries. His photos have been published on Al Jazeera America (US), Corriere della Sera – Io Donna (Italy), Der Spiegel – Kulturspiegel (Germany), The Guardian (UK), Proceso (Mexico), La Stampa (Italy), The Times (UK) among others.
Originally from Alba, a town in North-Western Italy, Alessandro is currently based in New York City but spends several months a year on personal projects overseas.
